BAAT Workshops
We, the Bay Area Amateur Thespians, love theater. We aren’t perfect, and if we’re honest: neither is anyone else. But theater exists to make us better human beings, to add empathy to our list of virtues. And like most things in life, only practice can make us better, if not perfect.
BAAT Workshops are designed to help us hone our skills. So that expressing emotion is not called upon just for a few moments on stage, but a practiced art that you can bring from muscle memory at a moment’s notice. So we meet occasionally, just to practice our skills, learn how to walk and talk on stage, critique our own performances, and to discuss good theater. While none of us is an expert, collectively each of us has something to learn from one another. Just by meeting every once in a while, by practicing our craft, we can all become better thespians.

Our next workshop is coming up on Sunday, Feb 5th, 2023 at the Dishari Public Library at 310 S Abel St in Milpitas, CA. This is your chance to learn the skills behind the mesmerizing command and voice modulation that the best thespians use on stage. How do you warm up before going up? How do you emote while whispering? Join us this Sunday and learn from some of the best talent that we have in the San Francisco Bay Area.

আমরা বাংলা বলতে গিয়ে যে অনিচ্ছাকৃত ছোটো ছোটো উচ্চারণগত ভুল করি, তার ওপর আলোকপাত করে, কিছু মজার অনুশীলন এবং পারস্পরিক আলোচনার মধ্যে দিয়ে সমাধান খুঁজে নিতে থাকছি আপনাদের সঙ্গে।

কবিতা বা সংলাপ সমষ্টি অস্তিত্ব নয়, বরং প্রত্যেক মানুষের ব্যাস্টি জীবন ও অভিজ্ঞতার রসে সিঞ্চিত হয়ে তা হয়ে যায় জীবন্ত, শিল্পীর একান্ত নিজের। কি করে আমরা তাকে ভাববো, টুকরো কথার শরীরে আমাদের মননের প্রলেপ, টেকনিক বা পদ্ধতির মূল উপাদান - এই নিয়েই কিছু চিন্তা, বিশ্লেষণ ও সম্যক উদাহরণ আপনাদের সঙ্গে একটু ভাগ করে নেওয়া।
